We make sure it’s gone for good.Global mission
As the world shrinks and human use of its resources grows, TechDisposal leads the charge to honor the environment. Because laws protect our environment, responsibly disposing of end-of-life computer equipment is essential for avoiding fines and litigations. But such disposal is more than mere self-protection — it is a moral imperative. We research, anticipate and react to changes in data and environmental law and practice that may affect you — operationally, financially and ethically. Eventually, the need to dispose of technology in a fashion that honors the land, sea and air — and the laws that require this — will become comprehensive and pervasive. As that day approaches, TechDisposal is your resource for knowledge and services related to your role in sustaining this global mission.
Our Forward-Thinking History
Trusted. Comprehensive. Global.
Environmental excellence became second nature to our founder, Sepp Rajaie, more than 20 years ago when he became involved in the technology industry.
During that time, Mr. Rajaie developed an instinctive ability to predict and track IT trends and how they would affect the environment. His early research, education, observation and interaction with corporate executives and government authorities showed him:
- Why electronic equipment components cannot be contained in landfills.
- How mercury and lead can seep into our water and land causing irreparable environmental damage and posing alarming health hazards.
- That environmental protection agencies would, in turn, create industry-wide change.
- That the explosive demand for more and better personal computers would in turn create a need to retire old PCs in a fashion that would honor the environment, not destroy it.
From this knowledge, Mr. Rajaie developed TechDisposal’s business model in 1996.
Down to business
Mr. Rajaie understood from the beginning the need to help executives protect and improve their bottom line — with business-savvy, earth-smart methods.
Thus, TechDisposal emphasizes efficiency as a means of eliminating waste and delivering greater value to our clients. Our continual mission is to retire IT equipment in the most cost-effective and earth-smart fashion available. Improper technology retirement can result in numerous state and federal fines and the ill-defined retirement processes of most companies are simply not cost effective.
Beneficent innovation
We keep a vigilant eye on the global business and environmental culture so that we are better able understand and fulfill our role within it while maintaining optimum value for our clients. As stewards of the environment and students of sound business practices, we’ve developed strategic alliances with organizations that share our environmental goals.
TechDisposal is ever evolving. We stay on top of industry innovations and regulations, so that everyone can benefit – you, your business and the environment.

Honor the Environment
Easily. Ethically. Beneficially.
How can we be good stewards of our environment when more than 500 million personal computers are projected to become obsolete in the United States each year — and most of those PCs will end up in landfills?
Electronic equipment is the fastest-growing portion of the municipal solid waste stream, according to a national nonprofit organization committed to environmental health. As the average life of a computer spirals down to a mere two years, consumer electronic products account for 40 percent of the lead found in landfills.
Recycle? Responsible.
Environmentally sustainable. Practically implemental. Economically viable. Socially responsible.
Turn waste into a valuable resource. TechDisposal maintains a Zero Landfill Policy, supporting 100% recycling of valueless technology.

Remarket? Intelligent.
Reusing items — By repairing them, donating them to charity and community groups, or remarketing them — you help reduce waste. Reusing products, when possible, is even better than recycling because the item's do not need to be reprocessed before they can be used again.

Storage? Short sighted.
Compromises security. Takes up space. Tax headaches.
Some studies estimate that as much as 75% of old, used equipment is in storage, where it takes up space and becomes more obsolete and less valuable. Storage and disposal of computers can also compromise the security of any data or licensed software programs contained on machines' hard drives.
Landfill? Unwise.
Hazardous chemicals. Poisonous waste. Potential public relations nightmare.
Landfill volumes cannot be contained and the breakdown of chemical components in landfills creates toxic substances that contaminate our drinking water, farmlands and even schoolyards.
Learn more about the environmental liabilities of stuffing landfills with computers and electronic equipment.
EPA compliance
Electronic equipment may contain lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury and other dangerous metals. Properly handling and disposing of these materials is essential to protecting our environment.
For older or nonfunctional equipment, we perform a fully EPA-compliant disposal. Our clients receive a complete Waiver of Liability for all disposed and recycled pieces.
- Guaranteed full compliance with all EPA, federal, state and local regulations
- Certificate of Destruction
- Detailed documentation (equipment inventory by serial number)
What else can you do?
Opportunities to support and promote recycling and reclamation efforts are broad and diverse. You can conduct acts as simple as composting or as complex as organizing an environmental center in your business or school. Whatever you do, if it honors the environment, we honor your efforts.
